Farmers market vendor Joe Sotelo, who sells food and goods for the farmers market at the University of Georgia, told The Wall St. Journal that he would like to see the UGA kitchen cabinets stocked up with food.
“I’ve been trying to get some sort of a shelf in my kitchen that would give me a little bit of something, something that’s going to be easy to clean and something that has a nice shelf,” he said.
“We’re going to need a lot of shelving.”
The kitchen is already stocked with a lot.
But there are still some leftovers to be stored in storage containers.
The next step, he said, would be to create shelves that were more comfortable for people to sit on, which could help reduce food waste.
Sotelos own kitchen has a full kitchenette and cabinets.
He said he plans to expand the space and add shelves to make the space more usable for people.
“Hopefully we can be ready in a year or two, if we’re able, to open up that space to make it accessible to everyone,” he told The WSJ.
