The Hill article Republicans on Tuesday slammed former Secretary of State John Kerry for not telling the truth when he was asked about the September 11, 2012, attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi, Libya.
During an appearance on ABC’s “This Week” program, former Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, D-N.Y., said Kerry should have said “that we don’t have the authority to attack, that the attack on that consulate was not authorized, and he should have called for an investigation.”
And then he didn’t, and now he says we don and we’re going to blame everybody else,” Schumer said.”
I don’t know how that is not a statement of fact.
“On the Democratic side, House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D, Calif., called Kerry a liar.”
He is a liar, and it’s unfortunate that he’s chosen to continue to lie about what happened in Benghazi,” Pelosi said.
On Tuesday, the Republican National Committee slammed Kerry for misleading Congress and the American people.
In a statement released Tuesday, RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel said Kerry lied to the American public in his testimony to the Benghazi committee and also “misled the American Congress about the nature of the attack.””
As we have repeatedly stated, the administration has been transparent about the fact that it never authorized or condoned any attacks on our diplomatic facilities and that the Americans who died were protecting the United Nations mission in Libya, not American diplomatic personnel,” McDaniels statement continued. “
The American people are demanding answers, and we will continue to press for them in the coming weeks.”
Klein’s lies, obfuscation and obfuscation of facts are no different than what John McCain did when he claimed the Iraq war was over before he actually left office,” McDanes statement concluded.”
As the committee’s investigators have concluded, the attack was not the result of a spontaneous protest, and there was no attempt to kill American personnel.”
Klein’s lies, obfuscation and obfuscation of facts are no different than what John McCain did when he claimed the Iraq war was over before he actually left office,” McDanes statement concluded.
Kerry’s appearance on the CBS “Face the Nation” broadcast was his first since his confirmation as Secretary of the Navy on Monday.
Klein appeared on the “Face The Nation” program to address the latest revelations surrounding the Benghazi attack and to answer questions from host Bob Schieffer.
Kray, who is expected to be confirmed as Secretary on Thursday, told the panel that he and other senior officials had been briefed on the attack but had not been told what led to the attack, according to CBS News.
Krey, who was secretary of state from 2009 to 2011, told Schieff that he was told that the ambassador, Chris Stevens, was the one who ordered the attack.
The attack, he said, occurred on September 11 and that Stevens was killed by an American drone.
Schieffer said that the Obama administration has yet to explain how the attack could have been so quickly, and that officials have not given a full explanation of how it was accomplished.
Kirby, who has not been charged with any crime, said the U,S.
and our allies in the region must act swiftly to protect our interests, including in the Mediterranean Sea, in the Arabian Peninsula, and the Gulf of Aden.”
The president is committed to finding those responsible for this cowardly attack, and I am confident that if there are any other credible threats to our allies and partners, the United State and our NATO allies will take action,” Kirby said.
